Harry and the Potters

Combining the power of fantasy literature with that of the almighty riff, Harry and the Potters represent the next generation of schoolhouse rock. Consisting of two Boston muggles, Paul and Joe DeGeorge, who perform as Harry at years four and seven respectively, the Potters transform Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft and Wizardry into lo-fi indie ballads à la Neutral Milk Hotel. "It's a special event, to be able to turn a library into a rock club," admits Paul.

The duo has self-released a string of albums, including last year's Power of Love, and contributed a song to the Wizards and Muggles Rock for Social Justice compilation, which benefited the Harry Potter Alliance. They even started the Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club; proceeds go toward First Book, a nonprofit providing literature to poor children.

The band has made some predictions regarding Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final installment in J.K. Rowling's series. "We think at some point Harry will get a hold of one of the time turners," Paul confides. "He'll go back in time and start a rock band with himself that triumphs over Voldemort."
