 Sean Carney has taken his bluesy rhythms across the country from the Columbus base that his self-titled band calls home. He won the Albert King Best Guitarist Award at last year's International Blues Challenge in Memphis, and he's played gigs ranging from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to San Francisco's Biscuits & Blues blowout.Sure, the blues vet looks good onstage, but he plays even better. Like a throwback club hound, Carney dazzles audiences with his upbeat lounge favorites. His nimble fingers riff on blues gems by Robert Lockwood Jr. and T-Bone Walker, whose tunes he covers in his swing-infused sets. He even considers Eric Clapton one of his BFFs.
