Jump in the Sac

Drunken debauchery rules at monthly Sachsenheim Hall dance.

The Pussyfoot Girls' monthly "jump" goes Irish-with-a-twist tonight with a St. Paddy's Day Massacre-themed romp. The group of four PBR-swilling burlesque dancers has turned Sachsenheim Hall into a raucous roundup of bands, contests, costumes, dancing, and drinking. "We wanted to do something to liven up the scene," says dancer Queen LaTata about the ongoing party on the third Saturday of every month. "Not that there was anything wrong with it. But there's always room for more venues and bands looking for shows. We've had great turnouts." Tonight's jump features garage metalheads Horror of 59 from Cleveland, psychobilly rockers Grave Robber of Indiana, and the equally morbid Rockabye Ransom of Parma. Between sets, the Pussyfoot Girls flash their irreverent jiggles and wiggles during a mix of '50s' dustups and jukebox faves spun by DJ Erin of 89.3-FM WCSB's Hot Trash show. And at the bar, partygoers can cash in on drink specials, if they're dressed as zombies and vampires. "The bands don't stop playing until about 12:30, and we're usually not done partying until 1:30 in the morning," says LaTata. "We just want to keep it entertaining." The massacre starts at 9 tonight at Sachsenheim Hall, 7001 Denison Avenue. Admission is $7. Call 216-469-0340 or visit www.myspace.com/jumpinthesac.
