Like any reputable Irish pub, Pug Mahones is an early bird on St. Paddy's Day. At 8 a.m., the club will start pouring Irish Car Bombs and $1 mugs of its Frank's Irish Red microbrew, with a free breakfast of eggs, sausage, hash browns, and soda-bread toast. "It's a tradition that I cook breakfast every St. Patrick's Day," says owner Rocky Fox. "I started cooking breakfast on my first St. Patrick's and will continue as long as I own the bar." But that's just the start of the tribute to everything Irish. Two sets of bagpipers will play at 4 and 9 p.m., by which time the pub is bursting with revelers, who have spent the early afternoon at Cleveland's annual parade. "I have been in the bar business my whole life," says Fox. "St. Patrick's Day is a fun time for me to drink with my friends and celebrate my cultural heritage." The party starts at 8 this morning at Pug Mahones, 17621 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. Admission is free. Call 216-288-8874.
