Lakewood bar gets its Mexican on morning, noon, and night.

You are so last week if you haven't kept up with the Cronies nightspot in Lakewood. For starters, the owners are going to change the bar's name in April to Eddy's & Iggy's, in honor of Saint Ignatius and St. Edward high schools. And another thing: The club is now Fiesta Central every Tuesday night, with homemade Mexican fare for South of the Border on the West End of Lakewood. "The normal menu is still the same. We still have our great burgers and amazing wings. But we've added a Mexican-style menu, with everything made right here in our kitchen," says Joan Johncock, the club's former owner and loudest cheerleader. "Wait until you taste the chimichangas. They are unbelievable." So are the cocktail prices, especially the $2.50 margaritas and 50-cent beers from the tap. "We've made some changes to the bar, but the attitude is still the same. When I think of this place, I am reminded of Cheers," says Johncock. "We're not just a bar; we're a party." Olé! Celebrate from 11 a.m. to midnight at Cronies, 17900 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. Admission is free. Call 216-226-3310.
