A three-piece band that formed in Houston in 2009, Khruangbin, which bills itself as "multilingual collagists," draws from the bass heavy, psychedelic sound of Tarantino soundtracks and surf rock.
By the summer of 2019, the trio had been on tour for nearly three-and-a-half years, playing to audiences across North and South America, Europe and Southeast Asia behind albums such as
The Universe Smiles Upon You and
Con Todo El Mundo.
Last year, they returned to their farmhouse studio in Burton, Texas to record a new album. They released their third studio album,
Mordecai, last summer.
Now, the group has just announced a run of more than 40 dates that includes a stop on Dec. 7 at the
Agora. Nick Hakim will open the show.
Tickets to Khruangbin's concert at the Agora are on sale now.
